General ODL Program FAQs

ODL (Open and Distance Learning) is a flexible mode of higher education that allows students to study remotely using self-learning materials, digital resources, recorded lectures and periodic interactive sessions, without regular on-campus attendance. But the exams are conducted offline at the designated exam centers.
Yes, degrees from universities approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) / Distance Education Bureau (DEB) are recognized for employment, higher studies and competitive exams. And CCSU is a UGC-DEB recognized University.
Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria for the specific course can apply — students, working professionals, homemakers, and learners in remote locations.
Universities provide printed study packs, e-content, LMS access, recorded lectures, live webinars and online academic support.
Exams are held offline at designated exam centres.
Yes. ODL is designed for flexibility so you can balance work and study.
Yes. UGC guidelines require equality in curriculum and learning outcomes between recognized ODL and regular programs.

MA Education

Yes. A Master of Arts in Education from CCSU is valid for academic jobs, promotions, and further research as it is a UGC/DEB-recognized university.
A. Minimum 50% marks or an equivalent grade in B.Ed./ B.A.-B.Ed./ B.Sc.–B.Ed./ B.El.Ed./ D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (50% marks each) Note: Reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other applicable categories shall be as per the rules of the Central/State Govt. whichever is applicable.
The duration of MA Education is 2 years (4 semesters)

MA Political Science

Bachelor's Degree with the concerned subject as one of the main subjects.

MA Sociology

The fee for ODL M.Com at CCSU is ₹5500 per semester.

MCA

Yes, It is valid as it is awarded by CCSU, a UGC/DEB-recognized university.
Graduate (in any stream) with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduate level or BCA/B.Sc. Computer Sc./ IT with 50% marks.
The Duration of course is 2 years.
Yes, This is a UGC recognized program and many IT companies hire graduates holding UGC-recognized distance MCA degrees.

MBA

Yes, a distance MBA from a UGC-approved university like CCSU is valid for employment and further studies.
Graduation in any discipline with 45% marks. Additional relaxation of 5% will be given in marks of qualifying examination to the SC/ST candidates in eligibility conditions only.

BBA (Hons.)
