Today, it is one of the nation's top educational institutions, with a sprawling, beautiful, and pollution-free campus that spans 222 acres and features large playgrounds and experimental fields, a botanical garden, a rose garden with a life-size statue of the late Prime Minister Ch. Charan Singh, a gymnasium, an indoor stadium, a well-equipped library, hostels for both boys and girls, an administrative block, a spacious auditorium, a guest house, a community centre, a medical centre, faculty and staff housing, a canteen, a bank, and a post office. Comprising various faculties, the teaching department is housed in large buildings with state-of-the-art facilities and well-equipped laboratories. Additionally, the university has a distinct engineering college that offers courses leading to a B.Tech. degree in a number of engineering specialities.

Along with the updated curricula, postgraduate-level courses were also added in 1973. Since then, the university has been progressing at a steady rate. In order to meet the evolving needs of society and to develop human resources, self-financed courses were to be introduced during the VIII five-year plan. Today, the campus is home to five faculties, offering 35 self-financed/job-oriented courses in addition to 22 UGC-sponsored courses.
